UAE Announces Eid Al Fitr 2023 Holiday for Private Sector

Private sector employees to get up to 5 days off

Government had earlier confirmed holidays for public sector employees

Abu Dhabi, UAE: The UAE has officially announced paid holidays for the private sector for Eid Al Fitr 2023. Private sector employees will have a four-day weekend starting from Thursday, April 20, to Sunday, April 23.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that Ramadan 29-Shawwal 3 1444H will be a paid holiday for all employees in the private sector across the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

The announcement was made in a Twitter post by the MoHRE on Thursday, April 13.

The Eid Al Fitr holiday marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.

The exact dates of Eid Al Fitr are determined by the sighting of the new moon, which is expected to be on April 21 or 22.

The public sector holiday for Eid Al Fitr was announced earlier this month. Public sector employees will have a four-day weekend starting from Thursday, April 20, to Sunday, April 23.
