Carolina Hurricanes to Wear Four Different Jerseys in 2023-24 Season
Canes Unveil Diverse Jersey Lineup
Sweaters Include Whalers Throwback, Stadium Series Design
The Carolina Hurricanes unveiled their 2023-24 jersey schedule on Tuesday, revealing that they will wear four different sweaters over the course of the season. The jerseys include a Whalers throwback, a Stadium Series design, and updates to their standard home and away uniforms.
The Whalers throwback jersey pays homage to the Hartford Whalers, a former NHL team that played in Connecticut from 1979 to 1997. The Hurricanes relocated to Raleigh in 1997 and have played in North Carolina ever since, but they still maintain a strong connection to their Whalers heritage.
The Stadium Series jersey is a one-time-only design that the Hurricanes will wear for their outdoor game against the Washington Capitals at Carter-Finley Stadium on February 18, 2024. The jersey features a modern, sleek look with Carolina's signature red, white, and black colors.
In addition to the Whalers throwback and Stadium Series jerseys, the Hurricanes will also wear updated versions of their standard home and away uniforms. The home jersey is primarily red with white and black accents, while the away jersey is primarily white with red and black accents.
The Hurricanes' jersey schedule is as follows:
- Oct. 12: Home opener vs. Columbus Blue Jackets (Whalers throwback)
- Oct. 28: Stadium Series game vs. Washington Capitals (Stadium Series jersey)
- Nov. 25: Home game vs. Boston Bruins (Standard home jersey)
- Dec. 16: Away game vs. Florida Panthers (Standard away jersey)
The Hurricanes' diverse jersey lineup is sure to please fans of all ages. The Whalers throwback jersey is a nod to the team's past, while the Stadium Series jersey is a unique and modern design that celebrates the team's present and future.
