Korean Air Partners with L3Harris and ELTA to Strengthen ROKAF
Enhanced Airborne Capabilities for the Republic of Korea Air Force
Collaboration for Defense Advancement
In a significant move to bolster the capabilities of the Republic of Korea Air Forces (ROKAF), Korean Air, L3Harris Technologies, and Israel Aerospace Industries (ELTA Systems Ltd.) have joined forces in a strategic partnership. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing the ROKAF's airborne early warning and control systems.
Korean Air and L3Harris Technologies co-hosted an L3 Industry Day event to explore potential areas of collaboration in strengthening the South Korean defense capabilities. L3Harris, known for its advanced defense technologies, has already supplied WESCAM MX-Series EOIR systems for Korea Aerospace Industries' (KAI) Surion utility helicopters.
The ROKAF seeks to acquire additional airborne early warning and control systems to bolster its surveillance and defense capabilities. The partnership with L3Harris and ELTA is expected to provide the ROKAF with access to cutting-edge technologies that will enhance their ability to protect the nation's airspace.
